Privacy
This site sets no cookies of its own and doesn’t track you.
Your trip and visited list
Churches you save to your trip, and the ones you mark as visited, are kept in your own browser on this device (“local storage”). They are never sent to this website. Clearing your browser’s data removes them, so use Back up on the Visited tab now and then.
“Near me”
If you ask for the churches near you, your browser asks your permission and then works out the distances itself. Your location is not sent to this website.
Visitor numbers
The site counts visits on its own server, without cookies, so that I can see which churches people look at. No IP address is kept: each visitor is a code that changes every day, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next. Your town or country is worked out from your IP address as the page is served, using the free DB-IP database, and only the place name is kept.
The Facebook feed on the home page comes from Facebook, which sets its own cookies. It only loads if you choose to show it.
Maps
Map pictures are loaded from OpenStreetMap (and, for the aerial view, Esri) as you use the maps.
Contact form
Messages sent with the contact form go by email to John Vigar and are used only to reply to you.
